The Alberta Benchmark Study
To increase the effectiveness of parenting programs, it is critical to gain a solid understanding of the level of knowledge about child development. This research revealed the level of adult and parental knowledge about child development, and how Alberta government policies might strengthen support for those who are responsible for the well-being of our communities’ children. The research also examined sources from which parents gather information about child development and which parenting practices are used most often.
